The Meilleurs Sommeliers du Monde series was created in collaboration with each winner of the competition every year. They are also engraved with their signatures.

Created in 1992 by Guy Vialis, Château Laguiole was the product of 20 years of thinking. It is now recognized within the best corkscrews in the world for professionals and amateurs. The handcrafted production uses only the most noble materials and is centered in Thiers and Laguiole. The Château Laguiole corkscrews are distinguished by the elegance of their lines, their exceptional grip and their durability.

Seemingly defying gravity, the Touch decanter rests confidently on an asymmetrically bulb-shaped base with a ridge tapered into an elegantly angled neck. This ridge effectively acts as an integrated handle, guaranteeing a comfortable grip in the hand. This daring decanter is mouthblown and formed by hand, making each a unique work of art.

Like the rest of the Black Tie collection, this decanter is dressed up with a black tuxedo or red stripe that extends gracefully from top to bottom.

The Burgundy Grand Cru glass is perfect to support the balance of fragility and fresh compact fruit in light-bodied wines.

This shape was one of the original 'wine friendly' glasses designed by 9th generation Cluas J. RIEDEL. The wide tulip shape and slightly flared lip highlights the irresistible sweetness, whilst perfectly balancing the acidity and deemphasizing the alcohol, to create a perfect picture of the wine.

SOMMELIERS, the world’s first wine-friendly glass series, presents itself in new attire. SOMMELIERS BLACK SERIES COLLECTOR'S EDITION is made from black crystal glass. Adding cobalt and manganese turns the crystal glass black. This cools much quicker than transparent glass, posing an additional challenge for the glass makers. The manufacturing process is further complicated because the R-Black Series Collector's Edition has a red glass string overlaid with clear glass. Although the Black Series can obviously be used as a drinking glass, we see it more as a particularly beautiful design object, which highlights the unique styling and proportions of the Sommeliers series. The original Sommeliers series comprised 10 shapes. The shapes were determined by the age of the wine and the various wine qualities. The current glass series was adapted under the aegis of Georg J. RIEDEL, with special glass shapes being developed in workshops. Highly experienced wine experts, such as Robert Parker, or winemakers, such as Gaja, Guigal and Robert Mondavi, contributed their knowledge to help fine-tune the RIEDEL glass shapes. The Sommeliers shapes have since become a benchmark for the industry and are now copied by many other glass manufacturers.
