Extreme Riesling glass by Riedel.
Machine-made crystal glass that keeps Riedel's famous finesse.
The Extreme glasses derive their name from their extremous contours. The bowls spread out wide and taper off at the top, leaving plenty of space for the wine to breathe and reinforce its own aromas.
Champagne glass from the Riedel Winewings series.
\nWith a flat bottom and reminiscent of an aircraft wing completed with winglets, Riedel Winewings glasses increase the surface area of the wine exposed to oxygen. This leads to greater levels of evaporation and enables a greater intensity of aromas.
\nThis innovative series is a symbolic shift in aesthetic for the Riedel brand, moving away from the shapes of the Sommeliers series, and towards a new era of purposeful glassware. The impact of this new shape is a collection for the true wine connoisseur. The Riedel Winewings series includes seven glasses in total and, while the differences between them look minor, the overall impact on the wine is impressive. The glasses adhere to the Grape Varietal Specific philosophy more than any Riedel series ever produced. For the first time, the Riedel Winewings glasses primarily emphasise the minerality of the wine where other collections have tended to highlight fruit. The collection is therefore ideal for the ultimate wine lover, who prefers wines with depth and complexity.

This shape was one of the original 'wine friendly' glasses designed by 9th generation Cluas J. RIEDEL. The generous size of this glass allows the bouquet to develop fully, and smooths out the rough edges. It emphasises the fruit, playing down the bitter qualities of the tannin, and allows wines to achieve balance.
SOMMELIERS, the world’s first wine-friendly glass series, presents itself in new attire. SOMMELIERS BLACK SERIES COLLECTOR'S EDITION is made from black crystal glass. Adding cobalt and manganese turns the crystal glass black. This cools much quicker than transparent glass, posing an additional challenge for the glass makers. The manufacturing process is further complicated because the R-Black Series Collector's Edition has a red glass string overlaid with clear glass. Although the Black Series can obviously be used as a drinking glass, we see it more as a particularly beautiful design object, which highlights the unique styling and proportions of the Sommeliers series. The original Sommeliers series comprised 10 shapes. The shapes were determined by the age of the wine and the various wine qualities. The current glass series was adapted under the aegis of Georg J. RIEDEL, with special glass shapes being developed in workshops. Highly experienced wine experts, such as Robert Parker, or winemakers, such as Gaja, Guigal and Robert Mondavi, contributed their knowledge to help fine-tune the RIEDEL glass shapes. The Sommeliers shapes have since become a benchmark for the industry and are now copied by many other glass manufacturers.

AROMABAR OF WINE FAULTS SCENTS
Certain aromas are undesired in wines - namely the so-called undesirable aromas, which can develop in the production of wine and are considered wine flaws. In terms of the senses, they are mostly noticeable as distinctive chemical aromas, but frequently also have a strong animal or vegetable character. The ability to recognise undesirable aromas and thus wine flaws rounds off the art of wine tasting. Gain more assurance in wine tasting and never drink flawed wines again. The AROMABAR of Undesirable Aromas makes this possible.
